Contributing Institutions
When the Green Cloud project was set in motion, a number of institutions assisted in the design and production of the initial prototype and continue to provide support in the Cloud's ongoing development.
From donating equipment to hosting the project, each of these institutions has played a role in bringing the Green Cloud to life.

Botanical Society of South Bend The Botanical Society is partnered with the Green Cloud staff in running the initial iteration of the Cloud at the Ella Morris Conservatory, located in South Bend, Indiana. The heat from the cluster is used to heat a large portion of the conservatory, and it marks the first real-world example of grid heating in action. |

eBay Online auction site eBay generously donated over 100 surplus servers to kick off the Green Cloud prototype. |

Condor In addition to cloud computing software, the Green Cloud also runs Condor, high-throughput batch job software. Condor is developed and maintained at the University of Wisconsin Madison. |

City of South Bend The City of South Bend has graciously provided initial construction of the power lines and cabling necessary to run the Green Cloud, and is additionally covering power costs for the time being. |
