Welcome to the Cloud
The Green Cloud was a scientific computing project actively developed by faculty and students at the University of Notre Dame from 2007 until 2012. Using an innovative technology called grid heating, the Green Cloud provided a distributed computing platform that not only drastically reduced cluster upkeep costs, but also helped the environment at the same time.
The technology developed as part of the Green Cloud project has been published in numerous commercial and academic media outlets. Most importantly it has found a wide range of commercial and production adaptations. To learn more about the Green Cloud and projects which have evolved from it please contact Dr. Paul Brenner and his team at the University of Notre Dame (www.nd.edu/~pbrenne1).
